NDIS Dianne FealyDianne is a much-loved NDIS client of CHESS Connect with her lovely nature and infectious laugh.

Growing up on a Victorian farm, her father ran Hereford cattle. As a girl, Dianne remembers being led around on Tango (a beautiful, but feisty, chestnut appaloosa).

She later went to school at Shelford Girls’ Grammar in Caulfield, Melbourne where she had lots of friends. Maths was one subject she didn’t look forward to – it wasn’t her cup of tea.

Dianne used to work at an opportunity shop where she helped sort out clothes and thought it was fantastic. With her friend, Wendy, they’d catch a taxi there and back. She used to make her own lunch because she didn’t want to always eat pies.

Dianne has always been a big fan of doing craft such as cross-stitch and needlepoint and loves being with her friends at R&R. Dianne is a bowling ninja (with trophies to prove it!) and consistently gets the highest score on her weekly bowling excursions.

Dianne also loves jigsaws and colouring in, watching movies and David Attenborough documentaries. Dianne has some special plush companions called Chocolate, Lavender and Bluey. CHESS Connect recently helped Dianne get a little, feathery companion which she named after her support worker, Sima. The budgie makes Dianne laugh while he shows off to her.

CHESS Connect and her family have helped Dianne find a lovely home of her own (which she keeps immaculately). Her CHESS Connect Support Workers assist her with diet, finances, medications, grocery shopping and walks along the beach. Joel (Manager of Mental Health and Disability) is funny and very friendly and Graham (Dianne’s Support Coordinator) is a nice person to talk with and she appreciates the help they give her to lead a more fulfilling life. (Dianne has plans to get two goldfish which she’ll call Joel and Graham).

The NDIS team at CHESS Connect work together to get the most out of Dianne’s NDIS plan to help her live a strong life, aligned with her individual needs and goals.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Dianne!
