What is SLES?

CHESS Connect School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) help Year 12 school leavers who are NDIS eligible gain the skills needed to transition into employment.

If you finish school before Year 12 we can support you through our Finding and Keeping a Job service.

Our SLES framework is designed with you in the centre. We work with you one-on-one to customise our service to align with your goals and aspirations.

This approach ensures that you get the focused attention you need to feel supported on your journey to employment after leaving school.

Identifying Key Skills & Goals​

Individual support to develop key skills, discover interests and learning opportunities and building confidence.​

Building Capacity & Life Skills for Independence​

Communication​, Personal presentation​, Organisational skills​, Budgeting & Transport​, Community engagement​, Health and Wellbeing.

Job Readiness Skills

Development of a work profile, including job customisation considerations, resume and cover letter writing, job skills and training​

Work Experience & Placement​

Real life work experience​, Testing different industries​, Developing new work place skills​, Practicing relationship building​, Honing communication skills​
